Viktoriia Patratii is a London-based professional make-up artist who explores the emotive mutability of the human form through fine art expressionism.
Originally from the Ukraine, Patratii began to paint when she felt creatively constrained in her professional practice.
Her longing to map the parameters of the human face led her to turn from cosmetics and live models to acrylics and canvas, where she felt she could work with colour and blend in a more abstract way.
As a result, her work is a startlingly vivid consideration of mood and emotion, and how different sentiments manifest upon the face and body.
Patratii studied in Odessa before coming to London to train at both Vidal Sassoon and Central St Martin’s. She also has a background in child psychology.
